With a weight of just 20 kg, the Sonic EVO AM SL-I actually falls into the category of light assist bikes. In contrast, however, riders of the Sonic do not have to do without either drive or battery power. This is made possible by the extremely light Sonic E-Power carbon chassis, the Shimano EP8 drive unit and consistent lightweight construction down to the carbon linkage. The battery, for example, is housed in a carbon casing that does without a battery cover and fits perfectly into the frame. The Sonic also sets standards in the rest of the equipment with the RockShox Ultimate suspension with 140mm travel, the electronic Sram XX1 Eagle AXS 12-speed gears and the Mavic carbon wheels.
